Challenger

Challenger Baseball

Challenger Baseball is an inclusive program, supported by Jays Care Canada, that provides an opportunity for children and youth with cognitive and/or physical disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of participating in team sport. Challenger aims to empower young athletes with the core life skills inherent to baseball, including teamwork, communication, resilience and goal-setting, in a fun, safe and noncompetitive environment. Jays Care trained and supportive program “buddies” are assigned to each player to help provide an enjoyable experience and to assist with all aspects of the game. This year, Challenger Fredericton is back at Scotiabank North after a two-year hiatus with onfield sessions starting in June! If you are a parent, guardian or care-giver of a specially abled youth age 4-22 and would like to register your athlete, please do so at https://frederictonminorbaseball.ca/resources/registration before May 31st . Enter code 2022Challenger upon registration to remove cost.

Volunteer note:
While we anticipate having a number of volunteers on-hand (and Challenger provides a great opportunity for families to enjoy watching their athletes from the sidelines) we’d also like to hear from you or someone you know who has special needs or baseball volunteer experience. If interested, please send an email with a criminal record check (vulnerable sector) attached to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
